National Archives of Benin
Located in Porto-Novo, the National Archives of Benin (Archives nationales du Bénin) date back to 1914. They maintain not only the Colonial collection of Dahomey, but also three collections covering the time period since independence. Furthermore, the National Archives of Benin are part of the UNESCO´s project Archives of the Slave Trade in the Memory of the World Programme to investigate the transatlantic slave trade organised from Africa and to preserve the archives.
